About Yarra Pistol Club

The Yarra Pistol Club is situated at 830 Wellington Road. Lysterfield (Melway Ref: Map 83 H7) in a delightful bush setting adjoining Lysterfield Lake Park.

The Club grounds cover approximately 10 acres. The facilities include four outdoor shooting range sections, a large indoor air pistol range, a substantial clubhouse including a kitchen - bar and a large car park.

Members are welcome to use the ranges for target shooting practice.

The Yarra Pistol Club was formed originally in May 1959 to organise, encourage and control amongst members the sport of competitive target pistol shooting. In 1965 the Yarra Pistol Club was incorporated.

The Yarra Pistol Club is affiliated with the Victorian Amateur Pistol Association (VAPA), Pistol Australia (PA) and the International Sports Shooting Federation (ISSF). These bodies in various ways govern our sport, produce rules for pistol matches and authorise our existence with statutory Government Departments.

Competitive pistol shooting has a number of different grades of performance, starting with Master Grade down through A,B, C and D. All new competition shooters start as ungraded in their first competition and their score will determine what their grade is.

The Yarra Pistol Clubs office hours are 12 pm to 4 pm on Saturdays only.

The Yarra Pistol Club is a non-profit organisation, run by volunteers for the benefit of the membership, with a Committee elected to oversee the functioning of the Club. Members are expected to participate in occasional working bees, in order to maintain the upkeep of the Club.

The Club Rooms are open each Saturday.
